I did mine this morning. It cost me $12 and I didn't even have to get out of my car.:)

Woke up to another 7 inches of snow. It took me an hour just to dig out where the city plow left their pile of snow. I even shovelled last night.

We got 4 to 5” by my estimate on Saturday. Weather forecast was for slightly more than 3”, but it had to be more.

It was beautifully fluffy; what I call “Christmas snow”.

The main roads were all very clean by Sunday morning.

Just a guess here but I think it would be much easier shoveling with a shovel.

We are supposed to get 2" tonight followed by rain that will melt it. Sort of normal for winter around here. We have already had at least double the normal snowfall .

stevej37 02-11-2025 04:30 AM

About 2" here overnight....but Wed and Thurs supposed to about 6-8 more.

It seems Winter has remembered how to be winter. It was cold enough Monday morning I had to put a charger on the tractor's battery to get it to start at -20°C. The driveway had drifted in but I had it cleared out by 8:30. Then it warmed up to almost the melting point by afternoon so the salt could clear the roads.
It certainly isn't as bad as 2015. But colder temps than we've seen for the past few years. Maybe this will give the black-legged ticks a hard time which will reduce the risk of Lyme disease.
Hey! Everything's a trade off.

Best
Les

Finally got our first real snow of the winter. About 4 inches overnight and looks like we may get at least another couple of inches today. We need it as we have been in a drought situation the last couple of years.

Seahawk 02-12-2025 11:18 AM

The snow in January was unusual for the Mid Atlantic because the storm was persistent and it stayed cold for weeks.

We had an 8" snow last night, already melting, 56 degrees tomorrow.

The horror:cool:

stevej37 02-12-2025 11:56 AM

Snow started at noon today here. Heavy snow showers falling straight down..no wind.
In three hours we have at least three inches and it's supposed to continue thru Thurs afternoon.

Sounds the same as our weather. Both heavily influenced by the Great Lakes.:)
(You have them on all sides of you)

It’s snowing as I type

stevej37 02-13-2025 03:18 AM

At least 8 inches of new wet snow since yesterday. That will make the snowblower work.:)

cabmandone 02-13-2025 05:27 AM

Ice... Ice... and more Ice. Freezing drizzle most of yesterday afternoon. Made roads in town a lot of fun.

^^^
I've skied Heavenly about 5 times in the past...my favorites are in CO. Breck and Keystone.
Never skied Brighton.
Boyne Mt and Highlands I have skied lots and lots of times. Crystal Mt is closer, but crowded.

I ski with elliptical ski's...until about 8 years ago. My feet have big toe bunions and a day of skiing started meaning 2-3 days of pain afterwards.

I'm too old to start learning snowboarding....

We had around 10 inches of snow last night. Once I cleared my driveway and 2 of my neighbours driveways the wind picked up and blew the snow back on my driveway.
We’re expecting another foot Sat-Sun
