So sorry to hear about all of this.
Marshall P is a great journalist and a great lover of the sport. I met him a long time ago, and admire his dedication, passion and professionalism. Will have to keep an eye out for his future writings on this topic. I hope that the TV coverage handles this topic well. Not too hot, not too cold, but just right.

Will they have to go through tech inspection?

I just watched the video interview Roger gave to Jamie Little on IndyCar.com.
You could tell he's trying to do the best he can for the sport and industry. I think he'll be a little more 'hands-on' now with the running of the teams.

I think Rossi had the best take. Its all about optics. He benefited from tossing the cars to the back, but he thinks optics aside its overblown.

Interesting CoG for the Wienermobiles! Looked up some specs - built on a standard heavy truck chassis with 300HP 6.0L Vortec V8 and weighing in at a svelte 14,000 pounds
Aero data not available ....

There's still some non soap opera racing goin on. Just won't find it on broadcast TV. BTW, all this BS about Roger having all this 'integrity', isn't this the same person that dipped a TransAm body in acid to lighten it? Plus plenty of other things. I've lost all respect for Pisske. |

I lost respect for RP when he went to the WH.
Just another billionaire cheating his way to the top.

I'd hate to be in his shoes when he explains to Porsche why he fired the guys that were running their IMSA championship bound program. He has a 50 year history with them. Age always wins . Its sad.

Make Bruins Great Again
|
-McLaughlin is going to have nightmares over today.
-Not his fault this time but the "Andretti curse" continues. -I would have loved to see T.K. drive even if he wouldn't have had a shot at being competitive. -I wonder about Dixon's brake issue after cooking the LR.

I thinks its goofy for Larson (or any driver) to do the double. The only win in this setup is the promotion and attention to the races and the sponsors.
Change my mind.

86 laps and so far, Indy has been a combo of endurance racing (mechanical failures) and demolition derby (accidents).

I haven’t watched an Indy car race in I don’t know how long. At least 10 years.
I guess I chose a bad time to start. Are they all drunk? |

It’s comical, but it won’t be funny when one of them runs over another pit crew and finally kills one.

Palou earned the win but it was definitely was an endurance race. I have watched almost every 500 since the 1980's and don't remember ever being this many mechanical failures and pit problems.
Newgarden was moving forward for a chance at the win at the end. Started in the back row and up to 7th! I think he had a strong shot. Bummer. I think Sato was a strong player until the put problem Dixon had brake and other problems (they usually have no reliability issues). Shwartzman ran out of experience in his pit stop. McLaughlin didn't get to see the green flag due too much power while warming up the tires. It definitely wasn't boring.

FOX broadcasters are the worst. Not the most exciting race. Since they are using some eco fuel blend, how about no limit on fuel use? Might be a safety issue. I was pulling for Sato to win his third.

I think the low temps made it worse rather than better, at least in terms of the crashes and pit lane issues. Thank goodness everyone is more or less unscathed.
Fox kept going on about Rossi's fuel hose, but it wasn't that. The car was smoking for 3 laps before he came in, and once the airflow was reduced it lit up. Likely and oil fire, Rossi said maybe gearbox, but Buxton insisted it was fuel hose. No. The fueler got burned b/c the normal overflow lit off on the oil fire.
