This morning on the way to work while stopped in a LH turn lane (E to N) waiting for the cross traffic light to change, an E-bike asshat, casually turned through the intersection (N to W) the light turning red as he was going through, maybe before he entered the intersection.

I was in St Augustine yesterday, picking up dinner for a friend, and down the sidewalk, I see 4 kids cruising at a rapid pace, on e-bikes. What stood out was the fact that they were all wearing bandannas over their faces, and the temperature was 96 degrees.

Seems like it would be easier to simply call a Spade, a Spade. These are not bicycles, they're motorcycles. Place them under existing motorcycle laws. Problem solved.

Regardless of your views on the e-bike.....they do offer an option for many people who due to a medical issue - many times orthopedic - couldn't ride anything on 2 wheels.

Now they can get out and enjoy riding in the fresh air and sunshine!

We see them on sidewalks all the time; many riders are not obeying the stop signs, re lights, etc., when they are on the street. Law enforcement needs to start issuing citations to these inconsiderate riders. They should also be required to license them and pay their fair share. How about a driver's license endorsement like a motorcycle license?
