Photos that look like flesh eating bacteria while I’m simultaneously eating and surfing Pelican can be a little arresting. My younger sister was a dermatology pathologist, so I’m up on my skin cancer types. The damage can be ugly when they start cutting pieces off of your face.

My "flesh wound" seems to be healing fairly well. I still keep it covered and will do so for a probably another week or so. I have an appointment scheduled for the removal of the spot that is on my shoulder blade on March 5th which is a Thursday. I took the 6th off from work also. This spot will basically be cut out, no mohs procedure on this one. My wife said I will have to be careful to not pull the stitches out with this one and that it will hurt more so, yeah, I won't be doing much of anything that weekend for sure.

First look, appears to be healing nicely. There is a spot at the top of the incision that is still kind of open so I will keep it all covered for a few more days. I also still have numbness from the top if the incision to about midway down. The assistant at the dermatologist told me that was normal, that the lidocaine will sometimes get into a nerve and it will remain numb but will return to normal after a while.

Marty, that came out well. Not mohs but I've had them cut out regular style. And they heal up fine.

A few weeks ago I had a whole lot of base cell carcinomas on my face so I self prescribed and administered Efudix. It all went well and turned into about 20 big sores on my face. Coincidentally social media said a guy called Bill got roughed up by a dog at a dog walking beach I go to and lots of people thought it may have been me. Then I appear looking like I've been attacked by a Rottweiler haha it gave them a fright. But now it's healed up I have a brand new face like a 20 year old. I should go to the pub and see if I can score an 18 year old.

Congrats Marty, it should heal well enough to add a touch of grit.

I have been self-treating my skin-cancers for a couple years now. Wife heard of a product called Curaderm to treat basal cell and squamous cell sites. It is a topical cream that kills skin cancer cells. You apply to the site and cover it, twice daily. The dead skin peels off. Its remarkable to watch it work. I like not having to deal with the surgery and aftercare. I was hesitant to tell my dermatologist when I first told her that I was turning down surgery. Two spots on my right leg she declared clear at a regular inspection. On my recent inspection, she found two sites which I said I would treat, which she was fine with. I have a follow up in a few weeks to check the progress of the Curaderm. This is the Curaderm website, a fascinating story but beware of imitators, https://www.curaderm.net/why-curaderm/.

My Dr. prescribed Efudex to a Basal Cell on my scalp. I followed the scrip exactly and it went away. Cool.

It came back a year later and then had to be cut out with a Mohs procedure. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

The only risk is not using it regularly or long enough to remove all the cancer.

No explanation needed.

Not doubting you at all.
