At the risk of being parfish, I believe Russia and Belarus should be in the games. The Olympics should not be political

That’s called ski cross. My daughter is on the left. The photo does not show how intense this is. Especially when they get moving and start hitting the jumps.

The athletes are there, just not flying the RUS or BEL flags.

Just crazy fast on skates .

Who made the medals ? Apparently more athletes are saying the medals are breaking or falling off the lanyard . Enough of a problem that the IOC are investigating . Sheesh it's not rocket science .

gregpark 02-09-2026 02:50 PM

Embarrassing. The medals are always made by an artist of the host country. Apparently not enough R&D, the guy should recall and repair every medal. How do you break gold, silver or bronze? Must be gilded pot metal 😉

flatbutt 02-09-2026 03:40 PM

AFAIK the gold medals have been gold plated silver for a loooong time.

I read the gold and silver medals, had a certain percent of gold and silver over some base metal.

The bronze medals were made of copper.

I guess copper is more valuable than bronze?

Our (New Zealand's) GORGEOUS Zoe Sadowski came third in her big air snowboarding. She is such a nice girl sort of person, obviously an amazing snowboarder and so good looking.

Women's ski combine US team 1 Mikaela Shiffrin had a poor run and they ended up 4th . Her teammate was Breezy Johnson .Team US # 2 grabbed a bronze . Mikaela now has individual medals to chase . Go USA !

911 Rod 02-10-2026 06:25 AM

I thought the medals they get are temporary and they get the real ones later one?

Is there a single athlete that is not good looking?

berettafan 02-10-2026 06:54 AM

I dunno but if i were a much younger man attending the Olympics this year i'd be spending much of my time around the womens snowboarding events.

Now there's an event that I don't understand. TEAM combined?

I thought that the point of the combined event was to see who was best when forced to compete two very different disciplines. Slalom and DH is almost as far apart as figure skating and speed skating. Now _that's_ a challenge.

Putting your best slalom (Mikaela) with your best DH (Breezy) skiers together as a pooled result seems silly. If they want a "team" medal as they do in skating and gymnastics, put up all of the speed disciplines. Heck, throw in skier-cross or whatever that new thing is. Then you'd have your "world-dominating-country of the mountain."
