^^^ Lol MBAtarga
I see that around here also. I'd like to see a cop sit nearby and sort some of those out with either a warning or ticket.

I think in the case that you've drawn, both of the lines in the roundabout are folks that did it wrong. The red line should have been the "inside" lane and the blue person should have been in the outside lane.
Blue dude is fine, two lanes in two lanes out, so inner lane is left or straight and outside is right or straight.

Now it makes sense. The person in the right lane, always takes the first right. The person in the left lane can get off at the second (going straight) third (going to the left) or fourth right (and head back the way they came).

Kind of, the person on the right can also go straight because it’s a two lane road.

We have a couple around here. I have never passed through one at rush hour but with light traffic ist not a problem. Same for the few round abouts.

It was a bit startling when I came up on it. I would have found it confusing if I hadn't read about it somewhere (probably here). It only took a minute to realize, "Oh yeah, this is one of those DD things."

"Socks on a rooster." Yain't from around here are ya?
It's a colloquial expression that means something is either hard to do or easy to do. It only makes sense if you know the context.

Say a guy comes in, hands bleeding, clothes filthy. "Changing that truck tar was like puttin' socks on a rooster."

Or the guy comes in, hands and clothes clean and tidy. "Changing that truck tar was easy this time - socks on a rooster."

Don't blame me. I just speak hillbilly, I didn't invent it.

Cloverleafs don't need signals. The do take up more real estate. Is that the point of these things? Anyway we don't need those here. Any signal can mean 2, 3 or 4 cycles to get through at rush hour.
I think the DD intersection is appropriate if the crossing road is too small to warrant a cloverleaf and too busy for a light. There are still signals, but when the light turns green, you go. You don't sit there through the light waiting for the guy in front of you to turn left against a long line of oncoming traffic.

Yes, this is the correct route from North 69 to East Dupont. I think there is a yield sign at the white line in the curve to keep cars exiting 69 from driving into traffic coming from their right if the light is green. This diagram wouldn't be so confusing if North was up and South was down, like a map.

Ashford Dunwoody - yes that's one of the more recent one's converted to Diamond - within the past couple of years. Another Diaomond is Jimmy Carter Blvd up on I-85. I think it might actually have been the first in town. Further up 85 is Pleasant Hill and I'm sure there are others.

explain to me how they make sense (not directed to this poster) but I am in NC as well and these things suck. They have made traffic worse and turned a bridge that was full duplex into half duplex and now traffic regularly backs out onto the interstates. That alone mitigates any safety gains of left turns.

In the beginning I found cars coming at me in the wrong direction frequently and I still find them from time to time.

I reckon it's one ... in Kernersville (used to be Mayberry, but with a stop light) ... it's freakin' dangerous the first, second, or third time through ... total bs .

This is on a former country road a few decades ago ....

I understand the dedicated turn light as opposed to a green light for turning and straight through traffic while waiting for a break in opposing traffic to turn. Left turns lanes work like that. Of course they are timed and you can miss it and have to wait another cycle.

I'm just having a hard time seeing how a driver can go either way on Dupont Rd. No, it doesn't help that the map is not oriented N/S but that should affect studying how it works or doesn't.
