Its been rough, high 90s and will reach 100 mid week for a couple days. Not too bad, went out riding thinking I was still 25. The heat sucked the life or moisture right outta me. Did about 20 miles and rode home. We have had it good here this year and people were complaining about spring about being in the low 70s for some months. Now, here we go. it will be in the high 80s low 90s for the next couple months until October. No rain, I wish.

I’m embarrassed to say the above pic is FAKE. Total AI. The farm is real, just up the road from me.
My wife’s friend who sent her the pic told her this morning it was a fake.
It did rain buckets here with 60 mph winds yesterday.
There have been tornadoes close to us in the past couple of years

Same here for the foreseeable future according to the Natl. Weather page for the area. Days in the mid 70s to mid 80s. We had to use the AC for about a week recently, but not for a while now. I'm concerned I might have to pay the power company something next year, but I hope not.

A real old fashioned Noreaster spooled up off Cape Hatters, NC this past Wednesday and is heading up the coast. It is already washing out highway 12 near Rodanthe which is the one and only road on or off the island. Buxton, NC, the center point of the island, was in process of a beach renourishment project. Will be interesting to see if that did any good. I lived there in the late 80's when I was a surf/windsurf bum. I remember driving that road in November 1987 in my '76 Toyota Corona with the Atlantic lapping at its edges. The whole place is really just a big sandbar with a few trees in a few spots. Beautiful in an austere way but ultimately a losing battle for the residents and the taxpayers of NC.

What a year (so far) weather wise. We had a long, wet spring, 90+ temperatures and a drought in July, 90+ temperatures and extreme humidity in August, and more heat and rain in September. The past 4 days we have had mist and fog and temps in the 70s. It felt like living on the coast of Maine. Finally, it looks like we will have some enjoyable weather, sunny, dry, temps in the 70s. Yayyy!!!

We got our electric bill today for September, and it's a doozy. According to Duke Energy, this now almost past Sept. was 9 degrees on average warmer than last Sept., 79F vs 70F. Temperature is usually pretty stable from month to month and year to year, so that was a bit of an outlier. Our AC never stopped running since April, got a break the last 2 days, finally!
