Hooniverse Fastback Friday: What is Your Definition of a Fastback? | Hooniverse

During the 80s, NASCAR made a resurgence, but the cars were all about as aerodynamic as bricks. Ford made a calculated decision to introduce the newly revised aerodynamic Thunderbird to the speedways with great success. This prompted GM to heavily modify two of their squared off personal luxury cars to do battle with the slippery bird. The Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe was modified from the standard Monte Carlo SS with the addition of a fastback window, and a shorter deck lid. The Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 went a bit further, with an even larger fastback window, a smaller deck lid, and an aerodynamic nose treatment. But are these true fastbacks?

I remember the Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupes. I thought they were really ugly, but hey, if they performed better.... I rode in one of the Grand Prix's once. It was a relatively fun car for the time.

They were ugly, and the drivers were typically infected with aggressive driving habits just shy of road rage.

custom?

Looks too small for a .50, so I'll say .338 Lapua.

Was thinking , what brand/model/type

Caliber , i would think is prolly .308..
Don't see why police snipers would use .338 Lapua, they typically do not need to shoot at really long range.
The ballistics of a .308, Bullet drop, cross wind at less then 300 meter is not really worse from .338Lap, that changes when you go longer distance,
but police shooters tend to work at relatively close range compared to Army snipers..
