Ya might wanna check your facts.
He enlisted in the Army. He was originally classified 4F but he insisted in serving, even though he wasn't allowed to serve over-seas. He did as much to further the war effort as any one solder making all sorts of training films and recruitment films and war-bond fund raisers.
If he was allowed to go into combat you can be sure he would have in a heart beat.

After completing fourteen home-study Army Extension Courses, Reagan enlisted in the Army Enlisted Reserve[28] on April 29, 1937, as a private assigned to Troop B, 322nd Cavalry at Des Moines, Iowa.[29] He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Officers Reserve Corps of the Cavalry on May 25, 1937.[30] (before the war).

Reagan was ordered to active duty for the first time on April 18, 1942. Due to his nearsightedness, he was classified for limited service only, which excluded him from serving overseas.

Met with President Reagan at his ranch about 25 years ago with 2 other co-workers. We met him at his barn and talked for about 1/2 hour. He was in jeans, western shirt and had his dogs with him coming back from working on an irrigation system in his pastrue. We talked about his ranch and tractors. He was endorsing a farm crime prevention program I was involved in. Had I not known him as the President , he would just have been another farmer, he seemed like a regular guy and genuinly interested in our program
