See the little tube running along the top of the fuselage? That's how you got from the front of the plane to the rear - passage tube or something like that. My father was an 18 yr. old radio-gunner on B29s in Korea. Said the tube was the worse part of the ride as you had to go thru the tube to get to the pressurized rear of the plane. Came to haunt him 50 yrs later when he needed an MRI and freaked at the MRI tube. That's when I learned about him crawling thru the tube when the plane was hit.
What was I doing at 18? Trying to find out if Patty's red drapes matched the carpet - sure did. Army boots were for punkin' and stompin'.
