This doesn’t stack up. I accept that English is the 3rd or 4th most widely spoken language, but only 328 million native speakers doesn’t pass the sanity test.

That’s 912 Million. Now you can make as many dumb joke about immigrants both legal and illegal not speaking English, but you can add 5 million Native English speakers in South Africa as well.

The key is 'native', which I suspect means 'first language'. The lower part '1.8b total speakers' might be right.

Um, what adds up to 912 million? The numbers above add up to 461 million. Also, don't forget that a good part of Canada is native French speaking.
