A few hand made race cars won races.

The 503 street legal versions were copies of the race cars, same as these modern tribute cars.

Most of the original cars had 375 hp. and could hit 130 mph on a very good day with a 20 mph tail wind.

They say this one has 1000 hp and hits 194 mph:

Looks like someone either spec'd or grabbed the wrong welded material. A piece of seamless may have given better results. Either way, takes a lot of torque to unzip a weld like that!
