The street cars were hand made also. The Superbird was a little slower at 160 but the Daytona with a Hemi could reach 180mph. Even the 440 was clocked at over 150 in the street cars as they came from the factory. Read up a bit at Allpar.com.

In my yoot I had a 69 GTX like the one in the pic up to about 130ish on the 22 freeway, that was pretty much maxed out and it felt like it was floating. It did NOT handle well and was far from confidence building.
It had the 440 magnum with air grabber, aluminum intake with 750 holley and headers and was very strong.

If that aero package could net them another 20 mph and provide enough downforce to keep the car on the road, then it was truly a magnificent work of engineering.

It's better looking than the original, better fit and finish, way more powerful (most of the originals had 375 hp), better handling, more reliable, and way more fastererer.

The o-riginal daytonas were off the assembly line charger RTs that were bastardized with cheap fitting bolt-on components that would make a 1990's Pontiac designer jealous.

I'd rather have a junkyard original than a modern copy.

The cd was .28 on the winged warriors. For reference, a Honda Insight was .25.

The lower the drag coefficient the better. The lower the number the more aerodynamic the vehicle is cutting through the air which helps in increasing fuel economy.

GM engineers concede that Toyota achieved 0.25 for the Prius on their wind tunnel, but as they point out “its really all relative to what tunnel it was tested on”. See GM’s statement.

Just for fun, check out this Wikipedia article listing the coefficient of drag for many vehicles. A 2003 Hummer H2 had a rating of 0.57, whereas a 1996 GM EV1 0.195.
