Parts of that film was filmed in DFW, the FW water gardens, some at the Dallas city hall. Let me guess, the 70's invasion of the body snatchers, and Soylent green also got ya, I know soylent green freake me out for years, even space 1999's dragons domain. Every time I go swimming they pools light reminds me of that critters eye! LOL!



Todays movies are CG wonders, 1970's films were much more scary!!!

Silent Running got me when I was a kid. I didn't understand what was going on, but I was quite distraught when Louie was "killed".

That one scared the bejeebus out of me as a kid, and it is one of the few memories I have of that show.

I remember being dropped off at my house after seeing "Alien" in the local movie theater when it first came out....scared chitless something was going to come out of the bushes!

I remember silent runnings, dang good movie! LOL@ dragons domain! The first season of space 1999, was wild! Its a shame they pulled it. Just like lost in space...

What the 914 could have been?

In the late 60's Porsche and VW were testing the waters of a joint-venture car so to speak.
They ended up with the 914 (and eventually the 924), but this is as concept they displayed in 1970./ I wonder how much it would be worth in pristine condition?

The Porsche Tapiro is a 1970 concept car by Porsche, designed by Giugiaro. It had a traditional 1970s wedge design, and was somewhat based on the De Tomaso Mangusta. The chassis is based on the Porsche 914/6, and it features gullwing-style doors.

The car had a longitudinally mounted air-cooled 2.4 liter flat 6 producing 220 HP, and a 4 speed manual transmission.

The car was in 1972 sold to a Spanish industrialist who used it as his daily driver. Eventually, a group of labor activists planted a bomb under the Tapiro. The bomb exploded, burning the car but not destroying the chassis.[1] The burnt shell was repurchased by Italdesign and is now on display in its Giugiaro Museum.
