I DID IT!!! I actually made it through every single page of this thread. So, now I'm going to post a couple of my own. Several pages back Kurt V posted some pics from our record snow here in Missouri. The 1st pic is of my driveway after that snow and a lot of shoveling. The second is from a much warmer day. As you're looking at the pic, that's Kurt V on the left, me in the middle and Robby Robinson on the right.

How you guys associate lips like those and a bee is beyond me... I have several very good alternatives myself!

First, it looks like the plane has taken off from the runway and is climbing like a scalded ass ape. It did not happen that way. You do a run down the runway at about 100 feet then before the end pull the airplane up into a very impressive climb. This way it looks like you just took off and are doing the impossible, which is what the aircraft makers want the buyers to think.

Next the camera ship. There is a gent named Clay Lacy out of Van Nuys who does 90% of these photos. He has an old 20 Series Learjet that has a camera in the belly, on top and so on and is ferried around the world to take photos of planes for everyone.

Go here and click on "Astrovision" and it gives a lot more information than I am going to post here.

OK, to keep Jeremy satisfied that we're not pulling the wool over anyone's eyes, we're now checking all girls pictured to make sure we don't have any "trannies tucking".

It's not often we're sitting on a sophisticated 3D printer and four tons of material, but Lockheed Martin apparently wanted to see if they could "print" out a new plane from their Skunk Works facility in California. The result is the Polecat, a 91-foot wide, four-ton unmanned flying wing with the major claim to fame being that most of its internal structures were rapid prototyped on said 3D printers. Our broke selves still have to stick with printing out our airplanes in paper (though our folding techniques have significantly advanced since the Cold War), but it's strange to think of a future where aircraft (and landcraft, and seacraft) aren't built by people and machines, but instead are squirted out of tanks of polymer and sent on their merry little ways.
