Took the cardboard mockup of my veggie tank, and started making the steel version. Still have a steep learning curve with the welder, but by the end I was laying some decent beads:

You can hardly go a block in Japan without seeing a vending machine. There aren't a lot of the beer ones, but if you look you can find one.
