Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station parking lot looking north.
It was just that kind of day in the OC today.
Spectacularly clear.

Not a great picture, but man... what a great sunset. A few minutes earlier, it was reflecting off the ice. Just incredible.

Mocking up the 110 liter veggie tank for my e300d:

v2.0 was a bit too deep at the bottom. We tested some suitcases, and even borrowed a baby walker for a test fit (being pre-emptive, nothing "in the oven" yet).

v4.0 is a little narrower at the base, with a taper towards the top. Much more room at the bottom:

Notfarnow: We repo'd a 300D in the late 80's. Before it got to the auction we got a call from the FBI. Seems they wanted to know if there was an auxillary fuel tank in the trunk. It was a very common mod among salesman etc with the diesels. They could get 700 plus miles before refilling.

Turns out there was a tank- a very nice job too. Professionally installed and covered in German carpet. Also turned out if was full of coke!

I had a US border officer take interest in my second tank once, poked around and checked out my extra gerry cans of veggie oil. His concern was whether or not beef products had been cooked in the oil... this was during the mad cow scare. He let me through though.

My second cousin did time in Texas. He was importing furniture from mexico, and it had "organic" stuffing.

Neighbor's 14 year old cat got her head stuck in a sticky bun bag, poor thing was running into things until we finally caught her and got the bag off
