I'm told this is a Luna Moth, it has a five inch wing span.
Some little bird was pecking at a leaf in the road when a bus came by and almost hit the bird. I wondered why a bird would be pecking at a leaf and risk it's life so. When the leaf came back on to the road 30 feet way after the bus has passed I went to take a look.
