Yezzir, Had to clear the wasps in my brain, went flying with a buddy. Been studying for an exam at work.. Actually did some back seat flying too. A few take-offs and landings as well. Always interesting from the back seat. For the record, ya can't see shat regarding the runway at about 20'. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...86ae48dab2.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...df65e643cf.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...41747613fa.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5f0fce6dd5.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Why don't modern ships have lightweight outriggers? -Retractable for high speed travel. -Attached to linear gererator to create electricity when parked. -A slide barrier fabric net for torpedoes/waterline cruise objects. |

Talk about pitching decks...... I had the pleasure of getting a turn in the F-18 fighter simulator at A NAS here in CA. The experience was unbelievable. Passed under the Coronado bridge inverted, at the dare from the Commander. He did say that the experience would have been unbelievably uncomfortable in real life and that the base would be getting loads of complaints via phone calls. Even set me up for a carrier landing and was able to trap successfully. The two instructor pilots were screwing with each other by challenging themselves to the most jacked up scenarios possible. Very impressive to see a successful capture in a gail force low vis thunderstorm, one engine, failed instruments and control issues along with a pitching and rolling deck. Now I'm not a Navy guy but long ago a Navy pilot said that a carrier landing is like trying to lick a postage stamp in the middle of your living room , in the dark as you get a running start and then jump trying to hit it with your tongue. I tip my hat to all of you carrier guys n gals A good two part PBS story on pitching decks. https://youtu.be/4gGMI8d3vLs https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...01a538ea9e.jpg |

If so, can it help or compensate for a moving deck? |
