Great juxtaposition:)

I took this pic in the late '80's. I think we were north of the Marshall Islands. I do not remember the Atoll.

I always wondered about the crew...ladder over the bow.

Wow....that's a cool pic, Paul! The crew probably went exploring, don't you think?

I went back today and installed a spotlight for my bromeliad log. That was the plan all along as I had left a long piece of low voltage cable wrapped around the tree as we proceeded with the project.

The kicker is I used an LED RGB MR16 bulb.....the customer is going to go nuts when they see this! :D:D:D

Hey Baz,

That looks freaking fantastic!!! I would love to do that here, however I don't believe our climate would support the tropical plants you get to play with. I guess I could go local fauna but I just do think it would have the "cool factor" like yours.

Cheers

Hahaha, I know! I was shocked to see it parked on the ramp here at the Auburn Airport. But man that would be cool to fly up and back in a DC-3. Especially if it was up the coast which I'm sure it wasn't due to the salt air and vintage parts. It was loaded with a bunch of folks and their dogs, at least that is what it appeared to be. Regardless, it was cool to see that sitting here on a beautiful day.

I did my first logbook entry from the Riverside Airport back in the day when I lived in Corona. Followed with flight training out of the Hemet-Ryan Aerobatic Flight Center in tail wheels, good times. I was able to play with an ECA, GCA, Stearman, T-6, T -28 and L-19. I miss those days......

BTW: those are great pictures of your daughter and the DC-3. Mr Proud PaPa you must be! I had forgotten that Flabob was EAA Chapter #1. We are #512 in Placerville, Old Hangtown.

Patrick, go back to the first post I made - which shows how it was made....out of a piece of Cedar trunk. I just found the piece of trunk laying on the ground - part of some of the trees damaged bu our recent hurricane (Matthew) back in October.

Obligatory pic (WITHOUT CHEATING! Name these 2 actresses):

Northrop flying da colors the day of the game. Now, if we could convince JPL to do a flyover in "something" like an Atlas rocket, then it would be a party.....woot woot

I always check the household goods dropped off at the local landfill when I'm there dumping stuff from my projects. Here's an unopened container of liquid fertilizer concentrate I recently scored.....of 'historical' value, due to it's 1988 vintage.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1483674854.JPG

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1483674854.JPG

I'm sure the product is still good, because it's unopened and it's still entirely in liquid form. Sometimes when liquid chemicals get old they form solids and then the stuff is kaput.

The 12-6-6 analysis is a fairly popular one and because of the liquid formulation, I will probably just use it for my foliage plants.

OK. I just saw how smooth the bore was and thought it was man made - like for a water main.
