Good idea...thank, Mark. I'm sure I already have something in my garage like that. I guess I was just experimenting to see how the mock up would work - period - before going into "production-mode"!

---------------

Was at my Mom's today doing a little garden maintenance for her and took this pic of a some plants I planted there several years ago. This is a very narrow bed so needed something vertical in habit and wanted something with an architectural look. These are Cordyline australis "Dark Star" - somewhat rare to find in markets around here. They were only a foot or so high when I planted them. Very cold hardy! At some point I will take some tip and cane cuttings. Working with plants is so amazingly rewarding at times....

Just got back from errands around town and as I was watering a few plants out front before coming in I noticed this Green Anole on my Pink Indian Hawthorn (which BTW I have been grooming as a topiary for the past 4 years).

The poor Green Anole has been encroached upon by the more aggressive Cuban Anole, so I was delighted to see this little one exploring and doing his thing on this special specimen of mine.....

It's funny, I love cars and car stuff. My favs have always been sports cars from the 50s-60s and American cars from the late 50s through the early 70s. Several years ago i went to a Concours that usually has lots of old cars from the early 1900s-1930s and fell in love. I ESPECIALLY love some of the hood ornaments. I could see myself with a collection of some of those hood ornaments, they are art.

I am from and grew up in So FL (other coast, Tampa/St Pete area) and as a kid in the early-mid 70s, most of what I remember are the greens. I'd wondered why you hardly see them any more and had seen something online that said that they are still out there, but have mostly been chased into the tops of the trees while the browns are mostly down where most people would see them. I'm in Texas now, and do see a green one from time to time.

Baz-how hot do those LEDs get? Do you think they could melt the conduit?

Florida sojourn

My wife and I went on a little sun seeking getaway, we found the sun... but it was not typical Florida weather. In fact we heard the Melbourne area set a record low the last day we were there, the Keys were windy and chilly too.
I packed for Florida, not here in the PNW.
Still a great trip!

Ran into some locals:

Hurricane Irma damage was not hard to see in the Keys.

Good deals on used boats can be had:

Key West was busy with spring break just getting started.
Free entertainment was easy to find:

Art, good food and interesting night life abounded:

Also saw my first stick shift bathroom... try as I might I could not get the sucker in gear:

We also stopped by NASA... they still have some rockets!

Couple more locals:

Maybe it is very lightweight and controlled by a computer.
(see the extra strut at the rear to change angle.)

On the fast and strait sections...the flat wing might be in the flat position to reduce drag...or angle upwards slightly to reduce down-force...and air/wheel bearing friction.

On heavy braking it pushes up...and the front end gets maximum grip...regardless of everything else.
still be better off with 2 smaller active wings front and back
since an active wing in the middle will only be active in 1 location, which is far from optimal for where the wheels need the DF.

As the sun pulls away from the shore, and our boat sinks slowly in the west, we approach the island of Lu-Lu (sproing) - spelled backwards: (sproing) Ul-Ul.
Ah, in the distance we hear Spike Jones and his Wacky Wakakians.

They don't get hot at all. Worked out real well on that drainage tubing.

The Amaryllis are in bloom right now.....these were at a client's property we were working at today:

The second job I had out of college was working as a grower at an Apopka nursery. We grew all kinds of foliage plants but we also propagated Amaryllis and as a company (including a Delray Beach location) were the largest propagators of Amaryllis in the US.

The method of propagation involved taking the bulbs and slicing them into small slips, each of which had a part of the base of the bulb, from which new roots and a shoot would emerge. These slips were stuck into raised beds of sand under misters. In between batches we would fumigate the beds with Methyl Bromide - and that was one of my duties - to set the canisters off. The beds were covered with plastic and I would reach in and pull the trigger on each canister, while wearing a full gas mask and Tyvek spray suit of course. Methyl Bromide is colorless and odorless so they would put some tear gas in with it to help with detection in case of a leak.

This was all back in the late 70's....back in the day......
