Had a nice paddle down the Econfina River yesterday, it was so nice, very cool water, could paddle up into some of the springs feeding the river. They are cool and very clear.

Nice turtle pic ! Island,
they are getting so relaxed with divers these days. Neat the way they seem to fly thru the water. That pic in the spring was taken with an IPhone camera only. The water is crystal clear. I went in with my mask and snorkel and it is some of the clearest water I've been in. Chilly too, took a bit to ease into the water cause of the temp contrast to the air temp. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1528487579.jpg The water in the main river is darkened with tannins from the trees. My brother in the back seat. The main stream flowed at a nice pace for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1528487811.jpg If I had an underwater camera with me I'd have tried to shoot the area where the clear spring water mixed into the main river water, looked interesting in the mixing zone. |

We've been getting rain every day - not all day long - usually around this time in the afternoon maybe for about an hour. Yesterday it was a severe cell that blew through and with it some lightning. I heard a strike very close by and lo and behold it hit my neighbor's house. It hit the top deck of an addition they are having constructed. Not a great pic but the lightning hit that top 4 pole section in the photo. The right side post was split in two and a piece fell down on the ground. I spoke to the contractor this morning and he said the whole thing has to be rebuilt but the problem is they already constructed more stuff after they did the "tower" so now it will be very difficult if not impossible to get in there with the equipment they need.
This is the neighbor who had an LED spotlight installed that blasted my property, if you recall I started a thread about it. You can actually see the light in the pic. It's motion activated so not lit up when I took the pic. Sucker is blindingly bright!
