"If it doesn't bite, sting or pierce you, then it must be a rock." One of the most desolate, isolated places that I have ever back packed. Our group did not encounter another human for three days while hiking the Rancherias Loop Trail in Big Bend Ranch State Park.

Drove through there years ago. Spectacularly empty.

From my walk this morning...my neighbor puts a wreath on his barn every Christmas Day.

After 20+ years, I just found out my sister-in-law is searching hi and low here in the states for these cookies she was introduced to while my brother was stationed in Germany while in the USAF.

Anyone ever see a local German store that sells these? I guess shipping is insanely expensive.

Looks like a place called Worldwide Holland has them for the price of 3,99 euros but to ship them to the states costs a whopping 35 to 56 euros... ouch

Assume orchard equipment?

Another pic from my daily walk...this one the last stop before I walk across my fields for home. Barn is equipment storage for his business and an apartment on the second floor. He built it.

Owner is a very good friend of mine, builder, musician, talent.

Yes. Uncovering 30+ years of trees and scrub oak growth over no longer used equipment. I get all the firewood I want from it.

Here's one more:

Thanks. Problem is that the owners are trying to get rid of the old stuff but it's really only worth it as scrap metal. The crawler is a 1953 model and hasn't run in years from what I've been told. Has a gas pony engine you start first then start the diesel.

Here's another one, bad clutch. Also been parked for years

There is quite the collector interest in old unusual farm equipment. Must be an online connection for it.

Paul, I find it puzzeling that you show us great pics of your place and surround ares, yet seem totally over it and just looking for a way out. What gives?

Cheers Richard

I grew up in the Coastal Mountains outside of Thousand Oaks/Newbury Park...in my opinion, the best mix of terrain and weather on this planet.

I enjoy my farm, love it 8 months out of the year; true four seasons is terrific. It is a remarkable place.

That said: take June, July and August and get me the F out of here.

We'll figure out the future when the time is right. Until then, I'll keep walking. I have some more pics for tomorrow.
