^^^where was that at??
Was able to make a couple of loops through the pattern....finally First “shakedown” flight in just under 5 years. A bit unnerving of the unknown, even though everything was triple checked and rechecked. With this job put to bed, it’s now time to get cracking on the Targa. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4a77f298bc.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d7b2d5c8f1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...88848867b0.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That is very cool. Can anyone visit or do you need to have an “in”? Cheers https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7c678e4720.jpg Need to dispose of an old engine and trans from an Acura Legend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Built a Stratux to use with an iPad. Now just need to determine the best aviation flight program to use. Foreflight, Garmin, FlyQ, etc... so many to choose from.

ForeFlight is incredibly seamless.

I really like foreflight. But I’ve used it for 7 years so it would be hard for me to change at this point.

I am deciding between Foreflight and FlyQ. I have limited experience with either so it will come down to recommendations and subscription costs. FF seems to be in the lead for users however, it will require a new updated iPad where FlyQ will run with my current one. They both seem to have a following with each group. I know Boeing purchased FF and I hope they maintain its strengths and “not” fall off on updates and R&D like another acquisition they purchased and let fall by the wayside. https://ipadpilotnews.com/2019/03/boeing-buys-foreflight-what-comes-next/ https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fba2b98eee.jpg PS: I just figured out how to multi-quote in a reply. Congrats on getting her airborne again Bugs!
2nd therapy session in July, this time our decades old tradition of going to Ross lake for camping, hiking and general Tom foolery. Here's how my Son comes up to say howdy. With his Best buddy and 11 year Ross adventure stalwart as well as his GF. Ross is 40' low this year, first time I've seen it low during summer. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563251974.jpg |

Thanks a bunch!!!! I would need to dig up photos from the start. That’s a good idea, maybe an all inclusive aviation project thread. I know we have many enthusiast on Pelican. I could even post my “inner geekdom” topics like bringing “successfully” back to life a lithium-ion battery for my Garmin 296. Had three, two OEM Garmin and one Chinese knock-off. I inadvertently cooked the first one and the 9v I was using all because the battery clip I was using from a defunct ELT battery is wired backwards/opposite from standard. Yes, common sense now that I think about it but it did catch me off guard when both batteries temps spike north of 130 F per my laser temp gauge. I am darn lucky I didn’t blow something up.[emoji849] So onto my second battery, being WAY more careful, followed the steps and not really thinking it would work, got the battery to charge to 100%. I honestly am dumbfounded that the whole thing actually worked. The Chinese knock off, well....... let’s just say that was full of “dark matter” and did not have the independent Samsung cells like the OEM ones. Battery cover epoxied back on with JB Weld and clamped. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...701a486554.jpg Now I just need to clean up the edges https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c421177310.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here is an observation test:
AOPA Pilot is a fantastic publication that gets circulated in print and digitally world wide. I think someone in the editing department is in a wee bit of hot water because something slipped by. I am not in the publishing industry and I am not slamming them. A mistake was made, that is all. It could have been corrected easily and we would have known nothing about it. With that said, in the world of aviation and in real life, the mistake could have and has proven to be a fatal one. Here is the magazine cover. See if you can spot the problem. I know that pics will lose some resolution quality but you should still see it. Having the actual magazine in hand would also make it easier too. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7d4eaf0e6b.jpg “Lucy, you have some splaining to do” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Empennage?
Hard to tell. You d need a separate thread, btw...there are enough Avgeeks here. |
Prop spinning backwards, duh...
