Perhaps the world's tiniest shell collection?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563740120.JPG

Of particular interest, a mini sand dollar, found at one Hawaii beach only:

Wow! Saw those and thought, “yeah those are tiny.... then I realized your coin of scale was a dime. Dang!!!!

I did the same thing when I found a hermit crab in one at Benga Lagoon. Even used a dime as well. Now I need to find it to post.[emoji1]

They're up this way too!
Trying to kill Higgins even, bastages.

These were just wandering around my buddy and I at a campsite.

Subliminally insisting you go pee somewhere close, soon

See it in the eyes?

LA to Oatman to Sedona To Red Rocks To Taos to Santa Fe to LA - or Bust!

First things first - I donned my lucky Robert Earl Keen "The Road Goes On Forever" shirt, and we left LA for old mining town of Oatman, AZ.

The Oatman Hotel. Rather long in the teeth, and she's sure seen better days, but still a nice place to hang your hat, cool off and get a cold one. Her claim to fame today is that Clark Gable used to play cards here, and when he married Carol Lombard they spent their honeymoon night here (in order to avoid the paparazzi of the day).

One more burro to see as we headed out of Dodge (er Oatman). Route 66 to Kingman and then down to Sedona.

Southbound out of Flagstaff heading down into Oak Creek Canyon on our way to Sedona:

We booked two nights at a cool hotel, adjacent to Oak Creek. My only regret was not booking a couple more. This was an incredibly relaxing part of the journey.

Random cool house across the creek

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563921269.JPG

FLWright eat your heart out. This house and those cantilevered decks were more impressive to me than Falling water!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563921269.JPG

And check out those steps. They have zero support under their outside edges - they must be doweled into the adjacent wall!

Even McD's got into the Sedona ethos:

Found this this morning in the landscape bed beneath the palm where my resident Osprey perches and dines on the local seafood.......

Cool baz

There are a few on the creek, fish parts all over my yard. Interesting when the mower finds them.

random pics that YOU have taken.......

Its official,
Had to order a sign to put at the top of our driveway. Tired of Uber and Lyft drivers driving down the driveway. As well as transient drivers trying to circumvent the backed up weekend traffic. I seriously want to ask “Do you see a double yellow line?????? Like the one on the road you turned off of?” After the deer in the headlight look and the excuse of “Google told me to turn here” I gave up.
Thanks GOOGLE MAPS...........[emoji35]

I don’t think it’s that hard to differentiate a main road from a driveway, but alas I am mistaken.

I did think about ordering a sign that said “You Damn Kids stay off the grass” but figured it would be too cliché. LoL

Hahahahahah
Pacific Gas & Extortion (PG&E) pays a contractor to go around locally and police the area surrounding the power poles. I pretty much do that on our pole between the house and the road. Round-up takes care of everything and helps reduce the fire danger too. The contractor shows up, gets out, fires up the weed eater and chews up dry dirt to two minutes then used the leaf blower to move the dust cloud. There was nothing to knock down but he did it anyway. I guess they have to justify the contract.

I love California, and I think it's pretty nice here. But I gotta say, the beauty in northern AZ is turned up to 11!

^Thanks for the photos of Sedona, it has bumped up our list of places to go see!^

My wife and I did some hiking last Sunday up near Mt. Baker, perfect day and great hike!
Looks like it's going to be a terrific mountain blue & huckleberry year, the wild flowers are everywhere too!

You're most welcome Skip. Not nearly the same as the PNW, (and BTW - GREAT shots^) but there's def much beauty to behold. And I was told Oct-Nov are the prime months, but July sure didn't disappoint!
