Got out for a ride around the local airport, 7.2 miles RT...48 degrees, threatening skies and windy.
Wear rain jacket, toss rain pants in rucksack. Check. Found the rain, pulled on rain pants- that made it stop raining within 10 minutes http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585625974.jpg Tree hugging 25 year old Sherpa http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585625974.jpg Bald eagle eagle eying the airport grounds http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585625974.jpg Rain on my parade http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585625974.jpg Look close on the left side, all the gliders have pulled themselves back into their cocoons due to the cold http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585625974.jpg |
Made more headway on the Interceptor yesterday too.
Reattached left side cover, flushed out the carbs with pure fuel 3 times (they all had very amber bad smelling fluid formerly known as gasoline), valve covers cleaned and torqued, radiators reattached and plumbed. She needs oil, some fresh gas pumped through the fuel pump, top up with antifreeze and see what kind of mechanical music it emits. Torque me up, not off http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg Hand feeding carbs for flushing porpoises- no porpoises found http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg I'm no electrical expert, but the headlamp bulb doesn't look quite right http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg Oh, and BBQ honey mustard chicken was on the menu, complete with breadstick http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1585673029.jpg |
She's a thing of beauty!

Thanks! Spring is starting in the valley! The green will fill the valley first, and work it's way up the sides of the mountains. These are real colors on the way to work in the with the heat on and the sunroof open. The point and shoot camera is old, and is not set to oversaturate the scene, like some filters do. The colors the sun cast in the morning are incredible.

Interesting shots JC!
I used to shoot tons of B/W, the bulk of them while I was attending photography courses in college. Learned to control exposures via the "zone" system and improved my printing techniques in a darkroom... back in the early 80s. And then digital photography came along and those skills rusted up big time. Digital handles black & white or color without all the delightful chemicals. Interceptor update- shes got fresh oil, antifreeze and fuel. I disconnected the fuel to carb feed line and the electrical lead to the fuel pump. Filled up the tank and it feeds fine gravity style. However, when I jumper-ed the fuel pump with fuel petcock on it makes a not so happy sound and doesn't pump any fuel. Bummer. New pump ordered. Before all that I replaced the fuel filter too. It's supposed to be changed every 24k and the bike only has 21K on it... I decided that it not only harbored 25 year old fuel, but it could be plugged up too so it got replaced Good lord is it ever buried! Behind and under the electrical panel http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586014131.JPG Found it! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586014131.JPG This odd tank had to come out first- It's part of the PCV system, antifreeze has it's own expansion tank http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586014131.JPG Another challenge- I need to create a side tank rubber pad out of a stopper. The bike is supposed to have 2, 1 is MIA. Any suggestions for best ways to carve rubber? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586014131.JPG |
