Jeez Bob, fine... I'll go wander around somewhere else.
Oooo, I know- how about the Whitehorse trail again? With a different buddy since Bob's PO'd at me. These are from a section East of the Oso slide, parked at Fortson's mill and rode West toward Oso. 2 other cars in the parking lot area (which is huge), only saw one other dude on about 7 miles of 10' wide gravel trail. North fork of the Stillaguamish river (yep, that's it's real name) with Mt. Higgins in the background http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg The river seems to have pretty much eaten an old truck, just the frame and a few of the hard to digest bits left http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg Bad parking choice, Bob, if this is yours too- come get it! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg Odd hollow sounding, bad tasting fungus dropping http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg Mountain bike with mountain http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg Stick stand http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg Another of Higgins, one of the more interesting lowland mountains around, topography changes abruptly within a mile and a half of it's true summit. Unlike Jeff, this one has no skills with MFI systems and will only eat airplanes if given a chance, not repair them. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586874874.jpg |
Great Picts and description Skip.
I'm taking advantage of the sunshine to redo my front porch steps. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586883617.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586883617.jpg |
Another storm yesterday - 60kt winds off the Potomac.
Lots of trees down...interesting problem that I will figure out this afternoon. Have chainsaw, will travel. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586885354.jpg Met a guy at the local Tractor Supply place...he had a really beautiful Bloodhound in his Jeep he uses to track wounded deer. Huge issue here. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586885441.jpg We had a Bloodhound growing up in California. Blue. Great dog. These pictures were taken in South Carolina after we moved there from Cali. Blue was my Dad's dog and they worked out a lot together: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586885525.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1586885525.JPG |

With many of the meat packing plants closing due to the virus, alternative sources of protein are available. Exotic species like the Egyptian Geese are considered by the State of Texas to have no restrictions to hunting. No season at all.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1587253978.jpg Then there are the chicken of the trees. This one comes with its own green tomato for a garnish. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1587254038.jpg |

There is quite a bit of moss and mildew in this area. Even in direct sun.
