Alberta is on my list!
BC is beautiful!

Just had our house painted, paid the contractor and my lovely wife said why don't we do an overnight trip somewhere, maybe Levenworth?

Oh hell yes!

With the nice long late spring/early summer days all the rivers in the Cascades are living up to their namesake.

The Bavarian-ish town of Levenworth is pretty quiet on weekdays, just the way we like it. We did manage to procure a great hamburger and Black Butte Porter to wash it down with

Is that Mt Howard in the background?

I used to take an extra day when I was working in Eastern Washington with commercial UAS company I have since sold and would leave Wenatchee in the morning, drive to Lake Wenatchee via Chumstick and Plain.

I'd then take Little Wenatchee River Road to the NF 6700 around Mt. Howard.

There were some great places to park and enjoy the view. I always rented a 4x4 and the roads were never very technical...in season, of course. I rarely saw another vehicle after Lake Wenatchee.

Then to route 2 to a hotel near SEATAC. I did this route four times. I will do it again...a simply remarkable part of the world.

Thanks for the pics!

Looks like a horrible place and a horrible way to spend a day. You must hate it!

My first visit/trip to Washington state was a trip to Seattle in May of 2000. The work that we were there to do had certain dependencies (racks had to be installed, power run, etc...) before we could do our work. It wasn't unusual for us to arrive to find nothing ready and the folks onsite unaware of our arrival and needs. That gave us a bunch of time to site-see. One day, we started out first thing in the morning heading for Mt Ranier, and then from there drove to Mt St Helens and then back (11 hours of driving). Between that day and some of the other driving that we did, I fell in love with the beauty of the area. It was almost 20 years until I managed to get the missus there for a vacation. She loved it too. Due to costs and politics, we're pretty unlikely to move there. But it's a beautiful area, and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't end up vacationing there again.

To Seahawk; nope, that's Dirtyface Peak, 6240' it's the prominent peak looking Northwest from the south state park area.

We stopped on the way back at Deception falls, there's a half mile loop well worth wandering.

That makes sense now that I looked at a map.

Great stuff as always, Skip and Mrs. Skip. I just love that part of the country and your pictures.

From the PNW to an atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean: October, 1987, Taongi Atoll. Bad day for the skipper! If you zoom in you can see the ladder over the bow.

Cool pic, Seahawk! You were in your chopper when you took that pic? Post more, please! :)

Skip - LOVE your photos and appreciate the caption work, which I know takes a few extra minutes but always helps the viewer understand context. You have a lovely lady there too, sir. :)

Your counterparts here at the beach. I wonder if they knew they were being photographed? ;)

I was. Wreck was a few years old when I took the pic.

Different cruise, taken in the Philippine Sea. Reef houses, not a resort. It is a little blurry because I didn't want to get close and used a telephoto lens.
