Thanks Baz. These are part of my final assignment for a recently completed History of Photography. My tribute to Edward Weston.

Geez Scott, that is an intense Blue!! I like it.

I actually shot those with a Canon 5D IV. It is in Edward Weston's Style, his still lifes. He shot his on a large format film, slow B&W film, with extremely small apertures and very long exposures.

These images were shot at ISO 50, with a 100 macro at f32. Manual focus using a linked iPad. All natural light as I am blessed with a kitchen nook that has perfect morning light. You should see these in PNG. They make great prints.

Read up on Weston's style and give it a go, it is not that hard and is just really neat.

I'll have to look him up. I kind of used a similar technique to shoot this picture.

ISO 64, 20 sec at f20. I know it's not the same but it's in the same vein.

My first SLR was a brand new SRT 101. Purchased at the May Company in South Coast Plaza in 1975. I like that shot!

I'll have to dig out my old 35mm SLR's. I had a Yashika and a Minolta. Started using them in the 70's. Mostly slide film. But here's an interesting story.....

When I was teaching Horticulture at Daytona Beach Community College my dept was in the Vocational side of the campus and their Photography dept was an award winning one. There was a fellow instructor there I knew from NSB. I think she may have graduated ahead of me by a year and had a younger brother behind me one year. Anyway - we were chatting one day and she asked to take some B&W portrait pics of me for practice. I still have them and here is one she took:

I was around 27 by then.

I just found her FB page and this pic of her:

I think I will send her a message and let her know I'm still around and how much I enjoyed the photo shoot and the pics she took.

Not sure who the fellow is in the pic - maybe her husband.
