Saw a guy launching these giant bubbles a few evenings ago while out walking along the coast.

From a visit two years ago to the mountains of Austria - There is a lot to be said for the elegant simplicity of a wooden buck. People of skill designed the shapes, built the wooden forms, and hammered sheets of aluminum against the curves to form body panels. Just as each snowflake has its unique identity, each panel ended up being different. This example was not used in period, but built in 1984 based on original designs to showcase the craftsmanship required to give birth to a Porsche 356.

^Fantastic craftsmanship there!^

Spent 5 days last week up on Ross lake, 20+ year tradition that is always interesting and good for unplugging from the news cycle as well as restorative effects.

Last year the lake did not refill from snowmelt/spring rains so I had to rent a boat rather than portage in my trusty 1980 Lund with 20 HP outboard.

This year the lake was full full full, so in with the Lund and a good 70 miles of lake travel!
My boat was the only non-resort boat we saw... it takes at least 4 strong individuals to pick up and carry the distances needed to be portaged up from Diablo lake.

Weather was off and on, much cooler and more rain than normal, no use of swim trunks, good use of rain gear.

We usually have 5 peeps and spend 3 nights camping, 2 in the Resort... this year with CV they are having lots of folks just not show- so we got the opportunity for 3 nights in the floating cabin, with lots of rain I jumped on that!!

Tried out my latest camera purchase, a DJI Osmo with built in gimbal and electronic stabilization.

Takes pretty good stills too!

Planning climbing Little Jack- only 5896' on top, but 5 hard miles of not so clear trail and 4000' of upward motion.

And again...
The resort has been building these wooden boats from one pattern they bought about 70 years ago, they do very well with a 15HP motor through almost anything a 23 mile long lake with a habit of high winds being generated in the afternoons can dish out. Expect a good pounding coming back South through the whitecaps.

Powdery mildew(perhaps from an old shipment of mulch), plus air born green mildew (seen on everything for many blocks around) is why nothing I've planted in my backyard seems to grow.

Despite the sunshine this whole neighborhood is infected with both.
I'm on a southern hill.
Cripes.

Jameson, an Irish Hand grenade. The Jameson is the pin, you pull that glass out and shoot it, the Baileys falls into the Guinness and you shoot it too.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1595096980.jpg

Skip. That’s looks like a great time had by friends. That’s what life is about. Not all the discourse and negativity that seems to have flooded the airwaves.
It must be nice to just motor away from civilization and take in all the beauty this world has to offer.

Thanks for sharing. Due to some significant health issues my ability to do these type of things is over so I have my memories to go on and the memories of others who take the time to share them.
I for one got a few minutes of feeling like I was there with you and your friends.
Keep sharing and thanks a bunch, it means more than you probably knew when you posted the pics.

That looks like it'll clean up really nicely.

I had the darn camera set in blurry mode. Bear came across yard and was going for the trash in the garage(doors were open). I had to go outside and grab the garage door opener out of the car before he got in.

Wow Tony... I'm close to speechless.
Behind the scenes for the last 6 months I've been taking care of my big brother who got me started adventuring 45+ years ago.
Due to his self inflicted declining health, bad money management and hoarding it's been some of the most difficult times I've faced.
I about lost him twice and I happy to say now he's much more stable and in a safe clean apartment. His memories of our trips together are sharp... whether or not he took all his meds today he struggles with.
I agree completely with you about the negativity and crap going on. I find solace and some level of peace in the great outdoors.
My goal in sharing on this forum has always been to set a positive example, and reflect the beauty I see in the world around me.

I'm moved to hear I may have actually done so for at least one person...
Thanks for the feedback Tony- Best always!!!
I'll keep sharing my crazy meanderings.
