I finally got back to working on my big brother's Interceptor... tried a few more times to start her last week and she came back to life! She would idle only with full choke even after warming up- one of many great things my brother did was to drain the float bowls. The way it acts the slow speed jets must plugged so pulling them and doing a thorough clean and fresh seals is in progress, as I pulled things apart it was clear the slow speed jets were indeed clogged.
The slow speed jets are a strange configuration, not just a straight through orifice. even after multiple cycles in the ultrasonic cleaner there was one that will not clear, new jets and seals should be here today! She's very VERY close to being out on the road again after 25 years of sitting in a garage. I'm sorry to say my Brother passed away late in August, I sure wish I could share the excitement with him... It was a rough 2020.

It's also got a different style throttle slide system... vacuum assist?
I noticed the throttle cables have no effect on the slides if you twist the throttle when it's not running, they do slide smoothly though and are easy to push open by hand.

RETIRED
|
After two weeks with an electric and hand sander I was able to piece together my beat to crap front fiberglass bumper. The temps in the low 30s didn’t help but my experience on the front made the rear go faster. Rotating the bumpers using my bicycle stand helped a lot. Cure time went from 1-2 hours at 70f to overnight in most cases due to the cold temps and no heat in the garage.
I went with a rough coat bed liner black instead of body color. I like the contrast. Easy touch up from alphabeta rash in supermarket lots. ![]() Last edited by Joe Bob; 01-27-2021 at 02:42 PM.. |

Hello Moto
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a 7 speed cog that's more mountain bike-ish gearingto pop on it and a long throw derailleur und click shifters ... the OEM cog is great at speed but carpy on hills, one of many projects!
