The terrifyingly wicked Thamnophis saurita. Be very fearful of this species. It will rip your lungs out.

A sea of Chevy Volts, including ours sitting at a local GM dealership waiting for batteries that seem to not to exist.

Ours has been there since January and have been told November at best to see its return.

Don’t buy EV or Hybrids folks. Dealers just give two craps if you do t have a vehicle and will not provide a loaner or rental.

^That's a hell of a way to treat a customer and sure fire way to loose one^

At least you can go sit in it, or take it out for a tow...
Seriously, that's ridiculous, how long have you been waiting?
These are new cars?

According to my extensive records the last time I refinished my yak was May 2019, I'm getting close to redoing it again

Very nice boat. It strongly resembles an Adirondack Guide boat.

15' Pygmy Goldeneye- 2001 build I believe, 2nd hand purchase of a $1000. boat kit that was already assembled and in the way out in a garage for a decade or so in Kirkland area.

One of the first companies to use CAD/CAM programs that cut mahogany in mostly perfectly aligned grain wise panels with lots of holes to match up and wire, glue it, remove wire ties and patch a few hundred little holes.

John Lockwood, designer/engineer was the driving force, the company didn't survive Covid- John was in the process of selling when that happened and he has not made any other attempts as far as I know.
Sucks because I'd love to build my own and choose a model with just little more foot room in the shell.

http://pygmyboats.net/

This one works with minimalist water shoes just fine.

Many places I love to take it do not have the best launch or landings.
I feel it was meant to be used, refinished as needed rinse and repeat.
I do try to be gentle, use docks where possible and it doesn't get drug over rocks- rather picked up and as gently as possible set down on as much sand or a couple sticks for cushioning.

It's been a fun filled return on $500 investment, plus buying a decent sander, sandpaper, replacement bungee cords, deck hatch seals and the Pettit finish is not cheap.

She's a joy to paddle, great straight line stability and according to my GPS I can keep her going at 5MPH for pretty long periods (flat water and no wind of course).

Wow! Just wow!! Talk about a functional piece of art.

How durable are those? We only have experience with the glass and plastic boats. We always are careful, but stuff happens. I would be afraid of doing some type of damage. Yes, I know that those type of boats have been in play much longer, but it still makes me wonder.

Beautiful looking boat.

Great photos being posted, the underwater world has such vivid colors and alien looking creatures and flora, surreal-

Byron-
Very cool to have lifelong friends!
We moved around a lot in my younger years, I'm lucky to have one best buddy I've adventured and laughed with since 9th grade.
Something we were able to do differently, our Son was born, raised and self ejected from the same house, still has people he knew in preschool around here.

Thanks Bugs!
I'm happy I bought the used Pygmy (that sounds bad) and as far as durability, 23 years and no cracks, weak spots or hole punched in it thank goodness.
Seems like it was engineered very well and strengthened with over lapping sections inside as needed.
My worst fear is dropping it or running it into a rock hard enough to turn it into damaged art that won't float.
It's slippery when wet, I keep a huge towel in the truck to protect the top of the truck and Yak while loading- I also have learned to dry it off or ask for an extra when loading it.

I've had a 15' Coleman Canoe for many years, it's just not as much fun as the Yak but crazy durable and good workhorse-
This was 2019, loaded up my flotilla and took a BIL out for a paddle- he had to use the electric motor set at about 3 of 5 to keep up
