Well if it's about the 'accusation du jour,' that really depends on whether you value the word of A.) the candidate or B.) the group of vets who are attacking him.

Proving something that happened 35 years ago in combat is not simple -- that's why the Swift Boat group -- which includes the people who attacked McCain as a traitor -- have some traction.

It appears that to the typical undecided voter, this is an argument that is stupid or confusing, or just 'dirty politics as usual' so I don't think anyone is going to make a huge effort to counter it.

It's all being done to obscure GWB's non-participation in Vietnam, and it's really having the opposite effect.

No one has pointed out a 'Kerry lie' in this thread yet. But in other threads, lies by several of the Swift Boat group have been discussed. So as far as credibility goes, I figure the guy that was there (not on another boat, or 'in the area' or 'in the same conflict') gets the benefit of the doubt.

McCainiac has a history of attacking Vietnam vets (including the Swift Boat vets)...He also has a history of crashing planes and violating the UMCJ, which is tantamount to treason...Crashing planes and giving up troop positions does not automatically disqualify any future criticism.
