Ok, to clarify again. I am not in the slightest worried about this situation for ME.

But, I do know some guys that have married normal seeming woman that went completely freakshow on them shortly after marriage. In fact the above scenerio would fit in their "wheelhouse" quite nicely. If you're telling me you don't know guys that got messed up with crazies I'll be shocked. And again, that's not really the point. It's a legal question, do I have any ownership(for lack of a better word) rights to my unborn child?

OK, do you really want some freakshow to BEAR YOUR CHILD?

And RAISE IT?

WTF is wrong with this picture? Talk about polluting the gene pool...

The thing is... the second you give the man any power in this decision, pro-abortionists have lost one of their major arguments: that it's about the woman's body. If all of a sudden, the issue is that the man wants a choice in the future life of his baby, then another piece of the issue that's been successfully ignored has to be opened up.

Agreed, but this isn't about you or me. It's a legal question.

There's a big difference between allowing unwilling pregnant mothers to be effectively enslaved as a forced "carrier" by some scumbag that knocked them up, and the initial premise of this thread.

"Politician Supports Convicted Rapist Forcing Victim to Bear His Child" Yeah, that'll play well come election time...

Then, no. The man has no say.

As soon as you give it to him you set a precedent for permitting one person to exercise WAY too much control over another person's life.

I personally would consider abortion only in extreme cases (health risk, rape, incest, etc.), but that's me. I subscribe to the philosophy of "don't f*ck with me and I won't f*ck with you". And telling a pregnant woman what she is and isn't allowed to do crosses that line.

I'm still baffled at the conservative/liberal dichotomy of opposing and contradictory stances on capital punishment and abortion. You people are all loony.

Hmmm, I'm actually anti-death penalty and not entirely anti-abortion, so where do I fit?

In abortion: I do not consider the child the victim, rather the mother and father, etc...

Death penalty: I am not against it for the sake of the criminal, rather those of the victim, judge, jury, executioner, etc... The fact that this will weigh on them for the rest of their lives makes it unacceptable to me. Put the bastards in some horrible work camp or something, they are the least of my concerns.

Nostatic has this one nailed.

Suck it up, boys. In this game you don't make the rules but you must pay the piper. There is no 100% reliable contraception short of surgery. In truth, a woman assumes all of the physical risks of pregnancy and most of the emotional burdens of parenthood. For every woman that cooly abandons her child, there are 100 men who have done the same. Women provide the structure to families. They are the glue that holds society together.

Women. Revere them, respect them, and if you love them wear a condom. (and pray).

So if one is for and one is against, how do you break a tie?

The system is stacked against the dad. Even the child support system is stacked lopsided. I read a story about a guy who was paying child support for years, then a DNA test determined the kid wasn't his.... but the court ordered him to continue paying child support.

Personally, I wouldn't want to 'tango' with a woman whom I was not in a relationship with, or didn't want to be in a relationship with. I just wouldn't want to deal with the consequences. And if I were in a relationship with a woman, and we had an 'oops', we would handle it. WE would decide what to do. I'd like to make that clear before we ever encountered an 'oops'.
