I'm a bargain shopper, unless I need a doctor or a lawyer. Find out who is the best, and retain that attorney. In fact, you might want to start with the attorney who is best at negotiated settlements and if that does not work and a contested hearing becomes necessary, switch to an attorney who is the most dominant in the courtroom. Those two styles are very different. Don't fire the first shot.

I couldn't disagree more on this point. You need to come out firing first, fast and furious. The bigger the guns the better. It's been my experience being the male in this adventure makes you the underdog. The absolute first thing to do is to DEMAND a dna test. And I would insist on it being done before the child is born. She needs to be made aware that she cannot use emotional blackmail. Tell her your feelings for her have died (whether that's true or not). You need to demand full custody or be relieved of all financial responsibility.

Unfortunately, the court regards your ejaculate as an irrevocable gift, hers to keep and grow if she likes. Do you think your ex and her new gal haven't taken pencil in hand and already calculated your continual financial contributions to their family? Think again.

You think the pregnancy is accidental? You managed 4 1/2 years without slipping one past the goalie. They can bump tacos all day long and never made a baby. They needed you for that. You've been suckered, pal. Get a lawyer fast.

As Moses suggests you can make the demand to her. But in reality it will NEVER be granted. Full custody or relief of financial responsibility. You make these demands only as a bargaining chip.
Let me add another ugly possibility. You say the other woman is senior to your ex. It sounds to me like her "biological clock" was ticking and she used your ex as a "way to fulfill" her own needs. If the two of these women ever break up (yes lesbians do it as often as hetero couples) and your ex gives up custody to the other woman. Your now dealing with this woman on ALL matters concerning the child you fathered. How compasionate or understanding is this happy lesbian going to be towards you?

They might be persuaded to adopt the child in order to get him out of their lives. Unlikely, but worth a shot.

I suspect his inadvertent fathership was part of a well planned financial program.

I wouldn't doubt they, and especially the other woman, would be very happy to have him out of the picture. But his financial responsibility is decided on the federal level and not state, local or household level. If he is the biological father he is on the hook for at least the next 18 years, more if the child goes to college or has ongoing health issues.
Men need to start realizing these things. There is a reason why they call ones ejaculation a "Happy Ending". Too often brother thats when the happiness ENDS!!!!!!!

I'm kinda with Moses on the point of why the girl is pregnant. Can you prove this is your child? Can you prove a conspiracy to defraud? One will be so much easier than the other.

The older one will be gone in a few years when "your" girl gets tired of that image. If this is your child, what are you wanting/willing to give to the child? Time could be on your side, but the short term is nasty. It was a $40K pill to lose 105 pounds of useless weight when I did it more than a decade ago.

1. It's very easy to prove if the child is his or not. A simple DNA test will answer that.
2. Even if this woman were to give a signed confession that her intent was to defraud him, he would still be financially responsible to the child. It has been attempted to "offset" the financial damage by suing the woman for fraud or emotional distress but to date no court has ever judged in the favor of the father.

They do it MORE. We have some lesbian friends. These are well-established women (both professionally and chronologically--i.e., they're not spring chickens). They ALWAYS have new "partners" every time we see them.
