The Bush Admin said he had them with NO qualifications.
The Reality of the situation is that NO BODY knew for sure what he had or didn't have. Only that he had some in the past and was not afraid to use them. I doubt if Sadam even knew, his regime was run like a Mafia fiefdom. All was chaos. The rub here is that, what Sadam really had and what the Bush admin SAID he had. The reality is that the Bush admin didn't know squat about what was really going on in Iraq, but they said that they did. The damable part of it is that they chose only to hear what made their case and didn't want to know anything more. And 500 shells found in ones twos and threes that date back to 1990 don't quiet qualify for the WMD meance that Sadam was portrayed as having. Thank You U migh equate what has been found as finding leftovers from Christmas dinner in the back of your fridge. All nice and mouldy.

Saddam was set up to have his WMD manufacturing in full production at a moments notice...He had operational ties to al qaeda and other terrorist organizations.
Case closed. The jury is still out regarding what Saddam did with his manufactured supply. They could have been buried, they could have been trucked out of Iraq. For all we know he was setting up his facilities to make as much as he needed at request...That is the way I would do it, at least long enough to get the sanctions lifted (which he was actively working to achieve). |

The key here is the Bush Admin PICKED the intel it wanted to hear and excvluded everything else. It did so for several reasons
1. To make their case for going to war...A SELLING TOOL 2. If they DID know anything else they could be accused of keeping it from the American people. and be accused of being guilty of omission for their own purposes.
