I did the pipe thing for awhile, actually my first attempt at serious tobacco use (smoked cheap really bad cigars at parties when really drunk to attempt to look cool)
I liked the pipe, much more mellow than the cheap cigars I had tried but cleaning the pipe was just too disgusting. Then about ten years ago when the big cigar fad hit my friend turned me on to good cigars. It's been downhill ever since...
