Considering that their experience is a lot "fresher" than ours is with keeping the blacks "in their place" (her words) its not surprising the feelings are this way. Her parents live on a farm outside of town and bother no one. They have had several friends murdered by the locals after they tried to sieze their farm and possessions and its almost a war going on there now. My F/A has moved out of SA because of this because she feels that there is no future in South Africa for the whites now.
There was a family 1 block over from us her ein Florida that was from South Africa and he was very racist and not afraid to tell you. They actually moved away because the Middle School their boy was about to go to had more black kids in it than he wanted to see. They moved 1 town away where there are almost no black families.

You folks need to get out more, slip the surly bounds of the white man's burden and see how the rest of the world treats their own and minorities...

America is the least racist country on the planet...bet me it is not.

I don't see any boat people leaving Miami.

What are the reasons for the postings of racist quotes without explainations as to why they are being posted?.

Racism? Sure, I know racism. I own a 914. Owned them for years. And now people call me a "Poreo", cause I own a 914/6 - VW on the outside, Porsche on the inside. And I know I'm better than those "Real" Porsches. And they always use the "N"-word. Yeah, I hate them. NARP!

Anybody who is white in the US has a builtin advantage and enjoys the benefits of it, even if they don't see it.. How do you propose we do to overcome that?
I would propose that we create equal opportunity for all, regardless of race color or creed.

If some of you do-gooders ever evaluated the programs that you support on the basis of effect, rather than intent, your views would quickly change.

Discriminating against whites does nothing to "equailizing the imbalance". That is just plain stupidity.

Carefeul Rick, you're stepping into Farakhan territory.

Much as I dislike the man and his rhetoric there is much about what he says that makes sense.

Here's a thought, just because racism exists someplace else does not make it right. And not just white-black or english-irish etc.

You'd be unhappy with your place/opportunities if you didn't even get a chance to compete on an even basis with the next guy because the next guy has the advantage of an old-boy network (or race, or sex, etc).

Chinese weren't even allowed to citizens in this country until WWII even though they essentially built the transcontinental railroad and provided much of the western labor. And then the only reason they were focused on during WWII was because they were contrasted with the evil "japs" based on physical characteristics.

I challenge those who think racism is a bunch of baloney to do some real reading/investigation. This wasn't something from the 19th century, your parents probably had these attitudes. Do you really think they are appropriate?

"other countries" don't claim to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. "other countries" don't claim to be a land of equality and opportunity.

You want to sink to their level?

When I was in the USAF stationed in South Korea on a Korean base, the locals would come up to me and ask if I was Japanese from the US. I immediately made it clear that I was not Japanese, rather that I am Filipino/Chinese. I was afraid I'd get my a$$ kicked. Koreans, back in 1985 in Seoul, hated the Japanese with such a passion.

Fast forward to today. My Japanese American boss (female) admitted that when she introduced her fiancee (a white dude) to her family, they were shocked. Apparently, she says, the Japanese are THE most racist group of people. She says that in Japan, they really still think they are superior to everyone else. The men do like blond chicks though.

Ah that's nothing... Where I come from the local black people, the Moaris, eat you if they don't like you.

Were thinking about voting Borat in as our next Prime Minister.

I'd like to be as honest as they are. We are hugely hypocritical and just like to feel guilty about stuff that is as widespread and natural as the wind.

Interesting, I haven't read much Farrakhan (shocking I know...). I tend to disagree with much of what he publicly says too, although if some plank of his platform is independence and freedom from the white man's charity for their existence, I would wholeheartedly support that.

I haven't taken any charity Rick, and I routinely run into situations where I or others run into roadblocks because of race. You can hardly make the case that I can't compete.

I think that as long as a group or individual thinks it will be rewarded for being a "victim" it will do nearly anything to maintain that status. I would use for an example the very uniform reaction by black leaders to the recent gay community's claim that their plight for "civil liberties" parallels that of the blacks in the 1960's.

I doubt that any of us has ever met a American slave, let alone been damaged by American slavery. Has anyone else ever wondered why cries for slave reparations never includes repatriation?

My point here is not to be inflammatory but that in the last quarter century affirmative action and similar programs have not well served whites or minority's. It has been the cause of bitterness and fostered a sense of entitlement.
