Irrespective of the chain of events that lead to commencement of this war on terror, the job should be finished and not left incomplete. To not do so places millions of North Americans at continued risk.

I am not an American yet I see the unttennable position your President has been in. To do nothing was to continue to allow innocent Americans to be killed around the world and at home (Dharan bombings, Nigeria Bombings, USS Cole etc).

There was no question about America having to act to protect its citizens, only the timing and the degree was in issue. Most of the dissenting opinions so far have implied that the USA went too far too early... but that is a very tough call to make without access to quality information.
That may be the best post of the year.

Wait . .it must be 2007 there now.

Well, there's the post to beat for 2007 then.

Happy New year.

Patent gibberish, lifted out of a cheap novel. Tell us which one.

Pat you are displaying your ignorance buddy.

You clearly assume what I said was false because it sounds unbelieveable. In a number of years documents released under freedom of information will show what I said to be true. (And no I am not bound under your Secrets Act nor was I working in an official capacity)

Any how you miss the point, which was our 20/20 hindsight holds accountable those in power for the acts committed. Yet fails to acknowledge the events avoided as they were avoided and failed to occur.

pat...

I am beginning to think the post describing you as sitting at your computer witha glass of wine, chuckling over the reactions of other posters is true. Only a real prankster and rabble rouser would purposely dismiss everything others have to say and claim invincibility.

Forget it, pat..you are nowhere near tabs lite.

You'll have to travel to the east coast to find out the truth, old boy.

I am a transplant....Lived on the right coast most of my long and rather dull life. You will not get me back to snow, ice and overcrowded eastern cities without an awful lot of kicking and screaming. I like my adopted home. The weather agrees with me, the open desert and "sky islands" (mountains to the rest of the world) are a source of eternal wonder.

Yes, "back east" has its wonders too...the Adarondak Mountains, the Finger Lakes, Pennsylvania Dutch country, some parts of the seacost, and I explored much of it by car and on foot. My work required frequent trips to NYC, Philly, Boston, Atlanta, etc. and I got tired of the big cities. Heck, out here, I even avoid Phooenix since it seems to be an east coast city dropped into the desert; crowded, noisy, smoggy, and smug.

I have seen the best of both worlds and constantly wonder why I wasted so much of my life freezing and wet.

Different strokes for different folks.

It's 51F today and expected to hit 62 tomorrow, and a cloudless blue sky. But, South Carolina isn't for everyone.

Now, back to the vineyard work.

I'm glad you said that. No, I'm not feeling we went too far or too early. We should have responded with this much vigor and resolution. The problem is that while we're busy wreaking havoc and inviting more Islamic hatred in Iraq, Al Queda is busy reorganizing. Our so-called "president" has taken his eye off the ball.
