I don't collect SPOONS but I do use one to eat my Chili , and once in awhile some soup too.

If you have spare SPOONS in your collection please take them to the Salvation Army , they need them so the less fortunate people can eat their MRE's.

No worries, mate. No one has gotten to me.

Jeezus H. Frickin' Christ, it's easy to get some of you boys wound up about your guns. Yea, the lack of loud noises is rather alien, especially after being used to firearms. However, when I take a step back and think about it, it amazes the hell out of me. Some bent composite materials, a synthetic string, pushing a round piece of carbon fiber at 300fps through objects is pretty amazing. I swear, every time I shoot my bow, I'm amazed. Today's bows are engineering marvels, IMO.

Personally owned firearms are for the protection of individuals from the government, to which you refer, that no longer gives a flip about your rights.

When was the last time the legislative or executive branch of the government did anything to protect individual rights. To the contrary, they routinely pass laws which violate your individual rights, starting with stealing what you make every year under the threat of the use of what?.....you guessed it......a gun!

Our government did not grant any rights to citizens of this country. The Founders recognized rights which they believed already existed and were granted by our Creator. The Declaration of Independence outlines the belief and The Constitution details the "protection of", not the "granting of" our rights. There is a huge difference.

I'm sure that an uprising of working class people feeling oppressed sounded like a great idea at the time. Then they granted the government the power to take care of everyone "equally" LOL. Then their saviors established a totalitarian regime that brutally oppressed, murdered and tortured millions of people. This is what leads to the Stalins and Hitlers of the world and the disappearance of individual freedom.

Oh yeah, that "government will take care of everything" crap works really well!

It would help if you would learn to read more and comment less!

Did some plinking at the club range yesterday...now enjoying the faint aroma of the Hoppe's #9 that is still on my hands. I wonder why some perfume maker hasn't picked up on what a pleasant smell that is to guys...

In that case, I am thankful and my comments have served to reinforce Jeff's point. I am also thankful that Competentone has never posted after misreading someone's post. I guess that's why he's Competentone.

Regarding a 1911, .22LR makes shooting affordable.

.45 ACP makes shooting enjoyable. I love my 1911

Self-defense is just a "911" call away; your personal safety is best left to professionals trained in such matters. Second Ammendment? It does say "militia", doesn't it? There is no individual right to own a firearm; they should all be turned in to responsible authorities as soon as possible. I find it simply appaling, this culture of guns here in the United States.
I agree

Everyone knows only psychopaths and wackos own guns. I'm glad I live in a place where everyone is intelligent and enlightened, and just.

We don't need guns here.

My favorite spoon with a horsey on it:

The gun and load the .45 ACP was designed to emulate; the great grandaddy of them all, the .45 Colt. Third generation Peacemaker, used as an almost daily carry gun for about 15 years now (replacing a too valuable first generation). Carried while backpacking, hiking, fishing, and hunting. It's killed two decent mulies and one realy nice pronghorn; I suspect it might do rather well on your average thug, too.

Standard load(s) consist of the RCBS .45-255K cast from wheel weights and weighing about 265 grains, lubed with my home-made lube, and loaded over either 17 grains of 2400 or 40 grains of Goex FFFg, both lit with a CCI 350 magnum primer. Either load just cracks 900 fps and will shoot lengthwise through a mature mulie buck. We don't need no stinkin' autos 'round here... (I must confess I do have a GI spec Springfield 1911, though.)

Nice to show the SAA with five rounds, some of the kids may not know that's all they should be loaded with. I've got a first in .44-40, maybe 60% condition, and a pretty minty third in .45. A great variation of the internal combustion engine.
