I think we can all agree that NBC played the tapes for profit, not (even though tabs wants to believe it) in order for the public to "understand" the killer. People around him knew he was whacked and psychotic. Teachers (at least one) wanted him out of her class because of the stuff he wrote. BUT and I mean BUT the networks wouldn't play it unless there were people who watch it to give them those ratings.

So, while one may complain about the profit driven nature of corporations - whether or not what they do is "ethics driven", what you come back to, is that the enemy is us. Us - who watch Jerry Springer and relish schadenfreude. The corps give us what we want. So until we all stop watching this stuff and tune in to only progressive family shows and newscasts with the emphasis on "little johnny helped grandma kettle across the street today" we'll keep getting more of the same. And since we saw the one on the guy who killed 30, we won't care until someone kills 40 or 50. Our choice.

I think this clearer rebutts any criticisms of myself. However I gave a more detailed description of Mr Cho on another Thread, this was rather circumspect as I had just written the other and didn't want to repeat myself.

However to restate my opinion. Mr Cho was really in a corner psychologicaly, can U imagine not even responding to someone saying Hello. Mr Cho as an imigrant kid probably was ostraicized when he first came to America. Instead of fighting back and giving as good as he took, he internalized all the slights that had been heaped upon him through out his life and the resulting anger just built in him without release. That ate at him and it twisted him. His only real release and place he could express himself was through his writing and when that got shot down, that closed that avenue off. He started to disintegrate psychologically and a little over a year later....Someplace in his family history is the reason for the extreme passivity, he mentioned molestation in his writing, I wouldn't rule that out as cause of his withdrawl and inability to communicate.
