The Shopping Thread

On another forum I'm on, they have a "shopping" thread where people post pictures of their latest purchases. Kind of fun to show off the new toys, and to see what other prople are picking up.

I'll kick things off:

Picked up a Lincoln 140c on Thursday. A bit more than I was looking to spend, but I wanted continuous controls and a 20% duty cycle. They threw in a full tank of sheilding gas and a cheapie welding helmet.

My first victim was the samurai, which desperataly needed some stitching up:

Great machine! I still tend to have "ropy" welds, and the more popular "booger" welds, but I'm starting to get a feel for the right settings and how the feel & sound.

What toys have you guys picked up recently?

I'll play. My new garage radio. Grundig 350DL. Great reception and a good sound. Just a nice radio for listening to the games while puttering in the garage.

Hey, notfarnow, was that the model you were talking of picking up? What processes does it do?

That is SWEET.

It's so rare to see a quality piece like that... most consumer electronics are just cheap junk

Here's mine! Just found these over the weekend.

Trying to play with solar power a bit. Here in Arizona we have more than enough sun. Found a guy on Craigs List who bought these 3 months ago for a project and was finished with them. Cost me less than $100 so will fiddle with them for a while and see how it works.

Not going to mention the extra set of Bang & Olufsen speakers I found... am up to only 9 sets of speakers now. Yes, its an illness.

Hey Jake,

Did you buy that rig new? Nice looking! A friend just got a Lincoln 180 and he loves it. Big plus is that I get to borrow it!

I was looking at the Lincoln 3200HD at Home depot, and a similar model at Canadian Tire. Once I got them out of the boxes, I found they both had "click" settings for heat. I really wanted continuous, any welder I spoke to insisted that I'd eventually regret not having that. This one was only a couple hundred more, and it came with the gas.

It does flux core & MIG. If I want, I can get a spool kit for welding aluminum. It will work, but apparently the 220V version (180c) is better suited for that.

The other big selling point was the fact that Lincoln is the official welder for Nascar. It even has a sticker on the side... just the kind of manly credibility my garage so desperately needs.

Don't know if this counts as shopping but I just picked this up off of Freecycler.com. Guess the price

Hope the cartridge/stylus are in working order.

Bought a set of used Rossignol Axium Super skis yesterday with some bindings, boots and poles for just over $200 to get ready for my upcoming ski trip to Breckenridge and Vail. I also booked a condo for the trip yesterday.

Now this is on our shopping list, I am ordering a new engine next week.

My sons engine let go with catastrophic results. Time to buy a new one.

Picked up a Gibson "Blues King" OO size acoustic. Great sounding little guitar, perfect for fingerpicking.

I bought this for $1000. Brand new. Chinese Honda 250 4 stroke knock-off. It won't get me to the Xgames but its been great on local trails.

Surely it didn't come complete & working for that price?

I've seen a couple like that locally for ~$7-900, but I don't have the height. Some BONEHEAD decided to put a 500 sq ft finished loft above my garage.
