I don't think those that hate him even listen to Rush. It's a chance for all the sheeple who do listen to him to do a little "superior dance"

Back when I listen to Rush, he had a bet going that the Clinton Tax hike was going to ruin the economy. $50,000, I think. Did he ever pay on that bet? Will he really pay 2+million to this? What if the Bid is from MOVEON.ORG, to hit him hard in the wallet. Do you still think he'll pay?

ALL of talk radio is just schtick. Haven't you all "gotten" it yet?

It goes like this: Say something outrageous and intended to infuriate, perplex, insult or just be weird, preferably to an ENTIRE group or class of people like, "...we should drown puppies..." or "...all women are is sperm recepticles..." and then wait for the calls to roll in.

ESPECIALLY from the weirdo zealots that have no real life and live to listen to talkradio and might actually AGREE with them about some weirdazz "opinion", then they riff off of the outraged responses. Play one against the other. I got tired of that a long, long time ago. Its so bad that even sportstalk is doing it.

I literally can't listen to almost ANY talkradio anymore and in SoCal ESPECIALLY not sportstalk. We've got a baker's dozen collection of morons for that out here.

P.S. Wait...wait....(for the first weirdo to expose himself here with his support for the Leykis reference....wait...wait...he's out there!)

I have no idea what $50k bet you're takling about, but yes he will match the bid no doubt.

Yep, Rush sets and baits the trap and they step in it every time

Just as an addendum: The head of this organization (Marine Corps -- Law Enforcement Foundation) is on the record as saying that Limbaugh is the TOP contributor to that foundation (I do not know how much money that represents, but I assume it is well over the million dollar mark.)

He will indeed match the ebay final price.

Re: the bankrupt Rush scenario. The ebay bids go up in only (I believe) 100 dollar increments, so no chance of some outrageous (100 million dollar, etc.) last minute bid.

The letter will be very valuable to collectors (attn: Rug man). The Government attempting to silence/censure one of its citizens! Has that happened before?

What is this Congresses approval/pole numbers again???? Duh.

Edit: This foundation provides college scholarships to children of Police and Military personnel killed in the line of duty. Their overhead/admin. costs are less than 1%! Tax deductible. You should help.

That's bizarre. A friend's father is auctioning off Hitler's globe:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=3731826

It's expected to fetch up to $20,000. And 2 mil for a stupid letter to Mr. Pompous and signed by a bunch of hacks?

Despite Hitler's infamy, his globe should fascinating, as it is one that old Adolph perused while planning his world conquest. Much more interesting than that letter. Tabs, you want a globe?

It's only censorship when conservatives do it to liberals.

Final price = $2,100,100.00

Doubled by Limbaugh plus (probably) tens of thousands of dollars in addition, sent to this foundation because of all the publicity. Excellent!

No worries, Moveon wouldn't contribute to the military to save their own children.

(1) It is historically significant because it's not often that Congress goes after a private citizen like that. It's a great example of Congressional buffoonery.

(2) It is an original document containing 41 original signatures of Congress. I think that is normally pretty difficult for a private citizen to get their hands on.

I have to say, this Democratic controlled congress sure is exceeding all expectations. Great job so far by Pelosi, Reid and crew.

Another point is that the bidders were willing to spend these huge amounts(at least in part) to make sure the public sees what the Democrat lead Senate is doing...what they are capable of.

I'll bet it was the senators who signed the letter who pooled their money to get it back.

And the winner is:

From the Limbaugh web page; "Betty Casey. She is a trustee of the Eugene B. Casey Foundation. She gives significant sums of money to hospitals, hospices, colleges, and private schools. These include the Eugene B. Casey Diabetes Education Center at Suburban Hospital, the Eugene B. Casey Swim Center, and the Eugene B. Casey Academic Center, and the Casey Home Hospice in Rockville. She has also donated tens of millions from the foundation and her personal funds to the Washington Opera."

From what I've seen here, it's not the conservatives that have a hard time paying up on their bets.

Brilliant, and the best story of the year. To flip this vile little bit of process thuggery and nascent censorship by the Senate into a $2 million public mockery of the Left -- and a fat check to military charities in the bargain -- is the sort of "buffoonery" that rekindles faith in the American conservative spirit.

And Harry trying to make it appear as HE had something to do with raising the money. Here's a thought: ALL 41 that signed the letter should pony up 2.1 million just like Rush.

If you have any doubts what the libs will try to do IF they get total control, you've just seen a prime example. Rush should just be a "little thorn in their side", but instead he's really got them backpeddling now. Great Job for exposing what the'll try to do a private citizen!
