Since it is now known that Armitage outed her and it's no secret he's not in Bush's circle of trust...perhaps someone can explain why you guys still feel it was a Rove/Cheney plot to punish the Wilsons?

Seems to be Plame was hiding behind her undercover status to launch political attacks--and knew she could raise a stink if she was touched. That's an abuse of clearance, if you ask me.

The information was passed to Novack by Armitage and from Novack to Rove and Libby.
I am sure there were many others who knew she was CIA also.
The point is not who knew or how they new but what they did with that information.
"The Gang" used that information in a way to cause damage to a CIA operative.

That is against the law - as well it should be.
And any Democrat, Republican , or Indep. should find that unacceptable no matter what the party of the criminals.

What did "the gang" do again? Wasn't it Novak that printed it? Since he knew before "the gang" are you implying they pressured Novak to print it?

Pressured prob. would not have been the word , but the word was no doubt passed.
Her identity (according to Novak) was confirmed by Rove and was the second source cited in his column.

Ya think? I guess when you write on you contribution check to Gore's 2000 campaign that your employer is the CIA, someone at the campaign and FEC see that. Thereafter it's nothing more than good old fashioned journalism to track it all down. Honestly, I'm surprised Novak had to go as far as Armitage to find out. But then, Armitage didn't know he was revealing anything secret, so it was kind of hiding in plain sight for all to see.

You are partially correct. She WAS a field agent then pulled back into DC after she was finished.

Her wonderful hubby "outed" her to several people who were not in the intel business, then she told her neighbors that she had been a field agent BEFORE anyone in the White House said her name.
