No offense, really

but no winners here, I see a lose lose situation.

So your wife hooked and landed a magnificent fish, an old age marlin, killed it, left it after a posing for a typical tourist photo, and then gave it away to a local school, even if it was for school lunches, such a waste.

Might as well as cut down an old growth tree and make yourself feel better by planting a new sapling.

What a loss.

Really, sorry and no offense, but even in 3rd world countries like Guam you need to take care of the resources. Otherwise they're just going to go away buh bye.

I'm a scuba diver and love to see things again and again, shoot the picture and then let the critter go.

Kinda like the guys who shoot a trophy elk, mount the head on their wall, and in 10 years later it's in a garage sale for $100. Hard to practice "shoot and release", guess you have to use a barbless bullet.

Tend to agree. Take the picture boatside, and measure length/girth. Have someone make you a fiberglass replica.

The fish lives, and you have a great conversation piece and something to remember that great day.

Darn it I meant to click on the thread "Random Fish Landed Thread" not the "Voice Your Opinions on Hunting and Fishing Thread." I hate when that happens!

We released this 3 foot Tiger Muskie. Tigers are a Northern/Muskie hybrid we have in these parts. Some of them get pretty big. I had one I simply could not get in the boat because the net was too small. Oh well, I would have released him anyway.

I would tend to agree, but I wonder what the chance of a fish like that living after a 2 hr fight. I have no idea, just curious.

So took the kids fishing yesterday - Out for an hour - two casts - two fish - They asked to come back in cause their arms were tired. (it was cute when they were helping eachother)

Fish on -

and the result

Annie's was a little bigger - took a little longer - You sit -

ok now stand and I'll pump - reel away

The result - Cravelle Jack -

Actually they did a great job getting them in with just a little help from Dad

Dude, you're living the life!! I just got back last weekend from AK ( water was a bit too high for the Kings).. Spent alot of time down the peninsula, and IMHO, all bear spray does is piss em off and give your white tender flesh a little seasoning!! Besides ,, our gov. put the bureau of AFT together cause the belong together!!! LOL

Same stream just a differnt trip.
Spinner looks like a Panther Martin...very effective on trout here...

Here is my wife with a sail fish she caught in Mexico a few years back. Measured 9'10" long and weighed in at 110lbs. ( fish weighs more than she does!) The other one at her feet is a 120lbs, and is 9'20".
