Going back that far is sort of ridiculous, BUT its very interesting in another way. People who have the same basic interests seem to be drawn together. For example if you travel to some remote part of the world and meet people, you are likely to meet people that know people you know, or people that you know personally. Out of the millions of people in the world, yours is likely a smaller world, a world where all the people you know, know people that you know!! So instead of a world of MILLIONS of people you actually live in a world of of thousands of people or even less!! Why??? When you go to marry your world may even be a smaller one! Its not by overt choice, but because of some other phenomenons that people have just begone to study.

It may be that smart people of a feather simply stick together. I would marry Ann Colter in a heartbeat.

Whew! As I was reading along, I thought I was going to be agreeing with snowman 100%, and thought the world was surely going to end today. Then I got to the last sentence...we're safe! IMO, we're all "mutts"...go back 20 generations and every single one of us would theoritcally have over 1 million unique contributors to our individual genetics ASSUMING every branch along the way was "outward". Now think about the probability of that happening

. How does anyone know Washington had no children, was he impotent? That's a serious question btw, otherwise it's pure conjecture...Ole GW may have not known what the meaning of "is" is either.

How 'bout, "if there were only Cain & Abel (and that other guy later), where did the 'third generation' come from?" I guess the implication is that to believe Judeao-Christian myths are to believe it's okay to fornicate with peoples' sisters, mothers, etc.

Makes for good rationalization material. Wonder why this kind of stuff is so common in those "bible-belt" states. Coincidence? Hmmm. I think not. . .

This was proven by showing that a)the earliest human ancestors are found in Africa, b) almost all recovered fossils from other continents in later time periods have the exact SAME mitochondrial DNA as this one woman, and c) mitochondrial DNA, as opposed to recombinant DNA, passes from mother to child unmodified.

Of course, this whole theory presupposes that our Universe did not 'begin to exist' 4,000 years ago and that the theory of evolution is a more or less valid academic tenet.

I guess we're all related and we're all just one big ball of incest. Werd.

My wife was the college roommate of the girl I was dating while up in Idaho. Took me a year and a half to convince her I was her prince charming though. We have been married 17 years and just found out we are expecting number 7. Wife wanted another girl. Man I hope it is a girl... We'll find out between now and September...
