The Avanti is 50 years old today.

Introduced at the Studebaker shareholders meeting & the NY Auto Show on April 26, 1962.


Designer Raymond Loewy on the right, and Studebaker-Packard president Sherwood Egbert on the left.

This was a design to build in just over one year, not too shabby for a failing car company.
