To knock over a traffic light from the base is hard to believe.. unless the base was made of a soft allow...

I have seen trucks that have hit a traffic light and the damage was far more than that 911..

Probably not staged. The poles primarily for lighting are designed to snap at the base. Other applications might be different but I am sure from past experiences that damage can be a lot more severe for the automobile and the repairs to the
pole if not designed that way.

This engine makes continuous power at 3000, and max at 3600 RPMs, Joel is guessing that 3000 may be all she's able to give in top gear level ground, this could be because the engine is new, it may be because the throttle linkage needs adjustment, but I think the CVT needs to be optimized if the last bit of power is to be found.

I don't think it was staged, they would have had a lot of attention to detail. Plus, I've seen these poles snap a couple of times. I used to drive a garbage truck in the city, you would be surprised how little it takes to snap one of those.

I thought the location looked familiar. He's a few minutes of wasted time with google maps... its 19th and 5th avenue in NYC.

The Santa crash was explained on Jalopnik today. "Santa" emailed them and detailed what happened. A cab sideswiped the guy and he ran off into the pole. There was a pretty big dent on the left side of the car (not shown in any of these photos going around). The car is apparently fixed now. And it is a 912 FWIW.
