Speaking of exhaust, NASCAR style, apparently in the mid 60's there were no or little rules governing exhaust or the layout. If I remember correctly it was Richard Petty. / his crew chief who decided to run the exhaust all the back under the rear bumper. Think Plymouth RoadRunner style.

Every time an opponent would get close to draft him, the hot exhaust pointing straight back would disrupt air flow and allow high heat to enter the engine bay / cowl area. This would cause additional drag as well as enough loss of power no one could draft him. I think NASCAR then banned this style ( after 1 race) then dictated what you see today.

Good point! My father has disabled plates main for the heart deal. Although, due to the meds, he is such a wobbly goblin, there is no way he could even attempt a hike up into a beast of a truck. His GMC Duranax is challenge enough.

Too bad we can't get these here in the states. A Panda 4x4

The Countryman is nice, just really spendy. The wife had a 2009 R56 hatch and drove it till we hit 105k. I did as much routine maintenance as I could but it's still a BMW. I was religious with oil changes using OEM oil every 5K. Spooked me on potential issues creeping our way, especially picking it up used and then finding out it came from NJ. Car had corrosion on nuts n bolts not common to a CA car and had been involved in a TC damaging the harmonic balancer. Ended up at the dealer more times in the first year than our 91 Acura ever did in its 355K run. Moral to our story, check the VIN, check the VIN and check the VIN.... Fun car and handled fantastic, mileage wasn't bad either. She(me actually) tarted it up with Union Jacks, looked cool but everyone knew her car. When we sold it, everything had been sorted out and it was a good reliable little runner. I honestly thought she was going to go for another one but she threw me a curve when she opted for a Honda CR-V AWD. Then again we also sold our Toyota Sequoia at about the same time. I loved that thing, it just got crap milage economy. Guess the CR-V was a good compromise. I'm still rocking the 95 K1500.

Gearing up for our annual Wounded Warriors event.

M

These are for display purposes. We will mostly be in the water working scuba gear and with our Veterans.

Here's a fun fact:
When your buddy wants you to pilot his F-550 to pull his new race boat; double check his work regarding properly hooking up the hitch. Half way to the event this gawd awful noise of screeching metal and a boat bouncing around like a pissed off yellow-jacket in July. He forgot the hitch pin causing it to slip out of the receiver...... lost the hitch in an intersection and the trailer dragging with it attached by safety chains and the power cable........almost made the local traffic report. Oh joy!!!
