Women fly F-15 Eagles quite well, no idea why a race car should be any different, or why she should get so much attention from it. I mean, there are women astronauts, nobody puts them in SI.

The publicity around her has served to diminish her in the eyes of many, and she surely didn't help herself any by posing in some flesh mag.

As of now, IMO, the jury is out on her 'legacy'.

I honestly do believe that if she was a dog, no one outside the world of IRL racing would even care.

I partially agree. She has gotten her opportunities because of her looks. Sarah Fisher may be as talented but because she's not 'hot' she hasn't gotten the same chances. Her race teams have always been average at best. Maybe it is a lack of talent but we'll never know. But racing mirrors everyday life. The beautiful people always have more opportunity.
As far as Patrick posing in the swimsuit edition, I say more power to her. I don't care what profession a hot, (I won't say beautiful because in her case she's not), women is in. If she wants to show a bit of skin I'll look. Nothing wrong with being talented and hot. But no one can say she's being exploited. She's doing that all by her self.

She has marketed her sexuality, happens all the time. That's what Brit did and all the other nitwit celeb singers, they don't sing worth a shlt so they market the T&A aspect. At least Patrick can drive a car at that speed and compete w/ the boys. Look at the ads she has done with Monster.com, someone is managing her quite well for results on the bottom line and with the win it will get even better.

She won't drive forever and when she stops most likely she will have a career in acting or broadcasting, modeling, whatever, she ain't going to be poor. Is she going to win a championship, I doubt it but she will most likely have some fun along the way.

Heck, that even applies to Nascar (which I'm not really a fan of anymore)...it's all about marketing and hasn't been about racing for a LONG time. Sorry I had to use the N-word in this thread

I'm pretty sure the King has done it. I'm pretty sure the McLaren Honda 'team' came close back in the day when they were totally dominating F1 for a few years there. Probably not 10 in a row, but lots and lots.
